Pervasive computing is an emerging technology of anytime - anywhere
computing.
This involves intelligent devices that are embedded devices running web
services. Providing a development environment for these web services is a
challenge of its own. |

The talk will give a brief introduction to pervasive
computing and the current state of Linux based embedded systems. It will
explain the open source initiatives around the technology, with a case study
as
the Coolbase platform for HP's Cooltown vision. |
Speaker Profile |
Geetha Manjunath holds a Master's degree from the CSA department of the
Indian
Institute of Science and has 11 years of experience in the field of systems
software development. She is currently a technical architect in the research
division of HP ISO. She was with Centre for Development of Advanced
Computing,
Bangalore for 7 years before joining HP. Her areas of interest include
compilers, runtime, development tools and parallel programming. |
