Scope General
Synopsis This talk is about how the Goa Computers for Schools Project (GSCP) took Linux to the schools. It is about the problems we faced, our mistakes, and the solutions we came up with. We will be covering the various phases of the project right from the inception to implementation. Among the things we will be covering, will be how we got the systems at around $80 each to the schools in Goa, the issues that went into creating the distro, the human angle including the skill sets of the teachers, prejudices towards Linux and bureaucratic hassles. We will also be talking about the current status as well as the future and potential of this project.
