Talk Title Organising an Open Source Appreciation Workshop

Scope General
Synopsis With more and more people talking about Linux, and associating it with the open source movement, it is important that we reach the masses with it.

Be it senior citizens, to the average Joe Windows/Mac OS X user, we need to get past the cruft and show them that Linux is really user-friendly, and is *usable*. With experience in organising such events, and with success, let me share with all of you how others can run it as well.
Speaker Profile OpenOffice.org marketer, developer, documentation writer. Also, successful organiser of Open Source events like OSS-101 (introduction to open source for newbies - 3 day course), and recently, Linux for Schools course as well (6 days, of Linux and OpenOffice.org). Will provide press links if necessary. Typically running Linux on the iBook, and an all round Debian and Fedora (previously Red Hat) user.
