The Business of FOSS

The Business of FOSS

Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), such as Linux, has been changing the way the technology world operates. It has re-written the rules of the game, and created a whole range of new business opportunities.

Many people believe that the only business opportunity is the sale of Linux CDs or offering support services for OSS. This is far from the truth – there are many tried, tested and successful business opportunities involving OSS out there, and this seminar intends to brief its audiences about them.

This track is designed for CEOs, CIOs, CTOs and Project Managers of software firms that intend to develop product or service lines involving FOSS software and methodologies. An understanding of their core business is essential, however no technical knowledge is assumed.

A number of FOSS luminaries from India and abroad will be participating in this track, and will interact with participants on the best way to go about deploying FOSS solutions, legal and business aspects, etc.
