E-Commerce - Powered by Linux

Objective:

• To showcase linux and PHP as the powerhouse for driving real world e-commerce sites - both B2B and B2C
• Also showcase JSP &/ perl if someone can do the equivalent

Target Audience:

• Practically everyone. More specifically web developers and dot com start ups (those who are still left :-)

Demo Lineup:

• B2B site for real estate classifieds and auctions
• B2C site for gift shop with CC verification (hopefully)
• B2B contentware showcase

Total no. of machines:

• Atleast one webserver running apache + php + mysql (everything will work http://localhost if need be) 2 more clients for this server would be highly desireable

Hardware Config:

• Any that does the above

Network Config:

• Minimal

Floor space required:

• 36 (6x6) Square feet for machines
• Ample standing place for visitors

Power Requirements:

• Dont' know

Handout material for interested visitors:

• Write up on PHP desireable for newbie web developers

Poster designs:

• Help here please

Volunteer Requirements:

• Anyone who can surf the web and is a smart talker ;-)
• People who can create similar projects in JSP and perl
