What is IT.COM?
IT.COM is India's premier IT event held annually at Bangalore.
Where is it held this year?
Palace Grounds, Bangalore from November 1 thru 5.
So what has IT.COM got to do with Linux India?
IT.COM has a Linux Pavilion where Linux India will be showcasing Linux
and its capabilities.
What is LI showcasing at IT.COM?

Do you need volunteers?
Yes we do. Subscribe to the mailing list to find
out what's required.
Can I choose my group?
Yes, we have started forming groups based on themes like
multimedia, cluster, development etc. Feel free to join any one of them.

Are you looking for volunteers with special skills?
People with special skills are highly desirable especially on applications
like GIMP and also in areas like linux based networking and development.
Each group has a wish-list with regard to volunteer requirements. Refer
to them while volunteering.
I am not from Bangalore, can I volunteer?
Of course you can. This is a LI event, remember? ;-) Just get in touch with
the groups you are interested in.
Can I join more than one group?
You can be part of more than one group.
What is the maximum number of volunteers for a group?
It would depend on the number of machines per group - 4 machines = 4
volunteers. If we have more volunteers than machines, we can think of
volunteer rotation.
Are there any plans for talks or seminars?
Yes! There are plans for holding talks and seminars at the JRD Tata
Auditorium (IISC Campus) which is quite close to the IT.COM venue.
Linux India is still looking for a sponsor for the seminars.
The auditorium has been blocked for Linux India from November 1-4.

What are the topics for the seminar?
Topics are currently being worked out. Join the mailing list to keep

Who can give a talk?
Its up to the co-ordinators to decide that. Join the mailing list and

Do you have a projector?
We have one ATM but we need more. If you can spare one please get in
touch with Biju.
Do you need hardware?
Thanks for asking. Yes we do need lots of exotic hardware. Each group has
its own wish-list. The main coordinator for sponsored hardware is Avinash Shenoy.
What about games? I hope you have more to show than Quake this time
round
We are working on it. If you have suggestions on what games to exhibit
do get in touch with the multimedia team. It would be neat if you could
actually provide us with a copy of the game itself!
I have decided to join group XYZ, how do i go about it?
- See whether you actually fulfill the "volunteer requirements" wishlist for the group
- Send a mail either to the itcom list (preferred) or to the group
co-ordinator stating your intentions
- Please mention exactly whst is it that you are good at and what
sort of hardware/software you need.
- If you are a part of more than one group please do mention that in
your mail.
- State whether you will be available on all days ie Nov 1st thru 5th
