- Show Linux running on multiple hardware platforms
- Show Linux's capabilities in a hetereogenous network environment
Target Audience:
Everyone. Specifically targeting the IS Manager/CTO kind of crowd.

The lineup is categorised into 3 parts.

- Dynamic DNS + DHCP
- Content/junk filtering

Hardware:
In order to demonstrate the multi platform capabilities of Linux
required and provide various services to the stall
Servers:
- x86 servers - 2 nos
- Alpha21264 - 1 no(with dual NIC)
- Sun Sparc - 1 no
- PowerPC G4 server - 1 no
- SGI box - 1 no
Network:
- Fast Ethernet switches - 24 port - 2 nos
- CAT 5 UTP cable - 1 box
- UPS 5 KVA - 2 nos
Client machines:
PC's to demonstrate functionality - 2 nos
Printer
- Workgroup laser printer - 1 no
Floor Space:
- 10 feet by 3 feet table space for servers
- 4 feet by 4 feet for the clients
Power Requirements:
- 3 KVA ****WITH UPS****
- Power strips - 2 nos
Handouts
- Service setups will be documented and collated into a Website. Handouts can
be printed if funds/sponsors permit.
Poster Design
- Information to be collated into presentable formats. Help needed in getting
color prints of the same.
Volunteer Status
Volunteer Requirements
- We
need volunteers who can talk to visitors authoritatively about
services and applications mentioned above. Strong desirables are
prior experience managing a Linux powered backend with exposure to
some, if not most of the items mentioned above.
