This talk presents an approach towards porting linux on an Embedded platform using the Encore Simputer as the basis.
The focus of the talk will be on issues of bringing up a new kernel on a new board.
While the focus of the talk at present is on the 2.4 kernel series, it also address the core work on the 2.6-test series.

| Speaker Profile |
Over the past fourteen years I have worked on various platforms and operating systems. My experience includes Systems Software, Embedded Systems, and Business Applications. A common thread to my experience has been the development of Software Products.
At Encore Software Limited I am General Manager, Mobile Computing Products. Products that I have built at Encore include Voice over IP Protocol Stacks like H.323, SIP, MGCP and MEGACO, and the Simputer, a Low
Cost Handheld Device.
