Synopsis |
Linux offers a very rich set of tools for managing and manipulating the transmission of packets. The Linux kernel offers queues to schedule, shape and police traffic; this can be managed from the user space using tc (Traffic Controller) which packs with iproute2 (iproute2 suite is written by Alexey Kuznetsov). This can be extended with QoS to give diffserv. This talk is aimed at being a technology primer. |
Speaker Profile |
I am a System Administrator, at Yukthi Systems. I have been working with various networks and operating systems in the the last two and half years. One of the compelling and addictive technologies has been Linux! I have gained industry comparable knowledge, from the numerous howtos and manuals that the community has contributed. I have been a volunteer and speaker at the Linux-Bangalore/2002. |
